Situation
Children who are abandoned are often vulnerable to a lack of care, lack of family support and remain exposed to unhealthy environments. These children are very dependent on society, extended families and their communities for support.

Response by the Faith Community
In responding to the situation, the Church can respond by providing support through, care programmes, feeding schemes and educate communities about the importance of family matters. The Church is often seen as a place for hope and love in a time of need. In Matthew 18:2-5 Jesus emphasized the importance of children.
