ParticipantThe role of the Holy spirit in Christian counselling is crucial for effective therapy. According to Siang-Yang Tan, the Holy spirit’s work is essential in Christian counselling and psychotherapy.
The Holy spirit empowers Christians counsellors to believe God and see Miracles of recovery, change, healing, restoration, and growth. The Holly spirit Transforms individuals, enabling them to experience divine power and increase in maturity, wholeness, holiness, and the fruits of the spirit.
Based on the discussion in the interview with Siang-Yang Tan, I have learned few things, I have identified ways how the Holy spirit works, The spirits power: Empowers counsellors to serve effectively and brings transformation. The spirit truth: Guides counsellors in to all truth, ensuring consistency with biblical teachings. The spirits fruits: Produces Christlike character in counsellors and clients, such as peace, love and joy.
The importance of counsellors being in tune with the spirit to discern root problems, provide spiritual direction and facilitate healing. balance between spirit and power, truth and fruit to avoid consequences like abuse and heresy. the ultimate goal is deep spiritual transformation into Christlikeness for both client and counsellor.

Participant1. When working with children! establishing a trusting relationship is crucial. children need to feel safe and understood. counsellors should used age appropriate techniques like play therapy, drawing, or storytelling to help children express themselves. counsellors needs to access if children are at risk and determine appropriate interventions. help children identify and express their emotions in healthy ways. counsellors should work with parents or caregivers to ensure consistency in support and involve them in the child’s therapeutic process.
2. One way that I would use to engage with children at risk is by using open-ended questions and active listening. this approach helps children feel heard and understood, encouraging them to share more about their thought and feelings. cultural sensitivity: being mindful of diverse cultural contexts when working with children and families.
